Rita Carey

I work with people as individuals, with their own unique bodies, personal health concerns, fears, and frustrations, to create a path to greater health and wellness. After decades of clinical nutrition experience, I understand how health concerns like diabetes, heart disease, weight, fatigue, digestive issues, and chronic pain can change and challenge a person’s life, as well as how frustrating it can be to find a way of living and eating that is truly sustainable. My approach is gentle and integrative, as I take the time to listen, get to know my clients, and find sustainable solutions that truly work for them. My training and professional experience include a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University, the renowned school of Naturopathic Medicine, Acupuncture and Nutrition; decades of work in community, outpatient diabetes education and cardiac rehab nutrition programs; plus training as a Mind Body Eating Coach with The Institute for Eating Psychology. I’ve also spent countless hours in residential kitchens as a personal chef and currently host Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s Your Healthy Kitchen video cooking and community nutrition education program.
