Having spent most of my adult life trying every diet under the sun, I became known to my friends and family as the "go to" girl for information about the latest diet trends. I have not only lost and gained the same weight more times than I care to recall, I also experienced the intense highs and lows that came along with those losses and gains. By implementing the tools I learned through the certification program to my own life, I have experienced awareness, healing, and relief from poor body image, binge eating, chronic dieting, and body dysmorphia. The healing process has been incredibly profound. So profound, in fact, that I felt a "calling" to pass this remarkably powerful healing approach on to others. Healing IS possible. Let me prove it to you.

Bethany helps female athletes who struggle with food and body challenges find clarity with how to nourish their mind and body so that they can compete at their best, restore energy and find peace with food and body. Her approach to performance nutrition differs by combining strategies from both nutrition science and eating psychology. This dual focus recognizes that nourishment goes beyond the food we eat and ties into many personal dimensions in life. Through this individualized approach she is able to help athletes nourish their mind, body and soul which translates to improved performance in sport and life. I have been interested in mind/body health since I was a child. This work is very personal. I experienced digestive issues as a newborn baby, which has impacted my ability to eat and digest certain foods. I was diagnosed with asthma and have had respiratory issues most of my life. I began struggling with body image and eating challenges at a young age. I can remember as a young, 10-year-old ballerina, that I didn't "fit in" with the others because my body was more developed. Therefore, I started dieting at age 10 years old. As a result of the digestive issues, body image challenges, and many pounds of weight gain and weight loss, I have experienced fatigue, mood swings, obsessions with food and exercise, low self esteem, depression, and anxiety. The thoughts that took over my mind for so long were, "I'm not good enough. I'm not pretty enough, thin enough, healthy enough, fit enough, talented enough, fill-in-the-blank enough…" I reclaimed my health in my mid 20s. I gained back my sanity in my 30s. I decided to find which foods, types of movement, mental health exercises, and spiritual experiences worked for me, in my life. I began to reframe my thoughts and focus on what IS ENOUGH for me, in my life. I decided to let go of negativity, and welcome positivity in order to grow- through the good and "bad" times. Because of my past struggles, I have been on a journey to help others affirm their health challenges and repair them. Education: I have a Masters Degree in Counseling and Human Services (M.Ed.) and a Specialist Degree in School Psychology (Ed. S.). With this education, I am able to understand human behavior and intellectual/cognitive abilities. I have worked in community mental health, school counseling, and a psychiatric hospital. I also have an Eating Psychology Coach certification from the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. This certification provides an additional element to mental health that is more holistic in nature.

My journey is a story...one that brought me to become a Mind/Body Nutrition Coach. Encompassed in my story is a book filled with endless pages about my inner travels to find health. To places that speak of how I feel in my body and the peace I seek in living day-to-day. Through my studies with IPE, my struggles to find this place of peace with who I truly am are healing. My journey is now to guide others. Are you ready to find the quiet calm your body needs, to reclaim your true self with food, and the energy brought forth from within?
